Clinic Expectations

• Whenever possible I like for my student to take the lead in seeing office patients, especially if they may be new to the practice
• I don't expect you to do my job, as much as I would like to have more information from a written perspective of your assessment skills, the electronic medical record at EMRH is not designed for student input. The relationship with IT has also been hit and miss on student assess to patient records
• Even with these limitation I would like to see at least 1 pseudo-note per week so I can review your written assessment skills
• Frequency of procedures is impossible to predict, but will allow as much supervised hand-on experience as I deem you are ready to handle
• I will ask you question.....LOTS of them!
• The purpose of my questions is to determine the fringes of your knowledge.
• Not knowing the answer to a question is not a failure - but at least make a mental effort to come up with an answer
